SIBERIA
Our Upcoming Campaign
Recently,
in the early months of 2025, a volcanic landmass surfaced in the Southern
Pacific Ocean. Discovered by the German Navy, the Island has been named
Reichtum – roughly translated, Empire Growth. Examination of the island
revealed rich deposits of gold, silver and oil waiting to be tapped by any who
arrived. As such, many of the world’s leading powers have laid claim to parts
of the island, which has become a war zone. As we have been yearning to prove
ourselves to the world, Reichtum could be an essential part in elevating our
position. In addition to the considerable economic gain its acquisition would
lead to, it would provide us with a naval base in the South Pacific – close to
some of our regional rivals. I have counterweighed the risks with the rewards,
and I have decided that Siberia should do all in its power to seize Reichtum
and its riches.
This is
why I have gathered you together: it is imperative that we take Reichtum. Other
aspiring powers from across the globe are of a similar mindset – they wish to
take what ought to be ours. It will be your duty to gather information on our
campaign, keep yourselves safe from rival agents, and perform various tasks I
will eventually assign to you as our campaign progresses. We shall launch our
attack on 1 September 2015 (a few weeks from now).
Our History:
In 2017,
in response to Russia’s aggressive actions in Eastern Europe, the United States
launched a blitzkrieg-style invasion of the nation out of Alaska. The Americans
conquered the bulk of Russia’s Asian territory before their advance halted.
Realizing that such a large landmass could not be effectively governed from
Washington, D.C., the Americans set up a puppet government to manage Siberia’s
affairs. The Republic of Siberia was born on 8 October, 2017, and I was
appointed governor of said territory. The puppet government quickly became an
acting, autocratic government that suppressed violent pro-Russian separatists
in the west, expedited the growth of Siberia’s economy and infrastructure, and
built up a powerful military. Given the weakness of the American economy under
President Hillary Clinton, many Americans have flocked to Siberia in the days
since its independence. In the eight years since 2017, we have grown into an
economic and military power, and yet we continue to be snubbed by liberal
democracies, namely the United States, and scorned by other authoritarian
powers, such as Russia and China.
